Mike Molitoris, MIMFA, CRPCHome / Mike Molitoris, MIMFA, CRPC
Mike Molitoris’ interest in financial markets took hold after a tour of Wall Street with his economics class at New Jersey City University. After college, he served in the military where colleagues noticed his passion for investing and often asked his advice on financial matters. When he returned to the private sector, Mike knew a career in financial services was a natural fit. He trained at a nationally-recognized wirehouse before becoming the Managing Director of Flagship Wealth Management Group in 2010.
Mike has earned several advanced degrees, all of which demonstrate his dedication to clients and his wealth management practice. In addition to a B.S. in Business Information Systems from Bellevue University, Mike obtained a Master of Investment Management & Financial Analysis (MIMFA) from Creighton University’s Heider College of Business in 2017. With the MIMFA, Mike is able to take a deep-level analytical dive into investments and find options for his clients. Even more valuable are the abundant resources he has to perform due diligence on potential investments for portfolios.
Currently, Mike is pursuing a specialized MBA at Creighton University with an emphasis in Behavioral Finance and Financial Psychology. The study of these emerging and innovative fields will assist Mike in understanding clients’ beliefs about saving and investing and provide tools to help remove roadblocks towards pursuing successful financial consulting.
In 2006, Mike obtained the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®) designation from the College of Financial Planning. He was honored as one of the Carolina’s Five-Star Wealth Managers in 2014, and his experience has been quoted in several publications including U.S. News & World Report and Stars & Stripes.
Outside the Office
Giving back to the community and helping others who are less fortunate inspire Mike to offer his time and talent to many charitable organizations. For Operation North State, he helps pack 1,500 care packages each year for their NCCARES Christmas Box project. The boxes are filled with products from North Carolina and messages of support for the local troops from North Carolinians.
Mike also sits on the Board of Directors for the Marbles Kids Museum and is active on the Development Committee, which builds strategic partnerships with individuals and organizations to give all kids access to learning through play. Through the Me Fine Foundation, Mike provides support to families with critically ill children by relieving them of some of life’s burdens as they focus on their kids. He also volunteers in classrooms for the SIFMA Stock Market Game program to help increase financial literacy for students who can then carry that critical knowledge into adulthood.
Outside the office, you’ll likely find Mike at a baseball game rooting for the Durham Bulls or the N.Y. Mets. His love of baseball began early, and he enjoys igniting the passion he has for the game in others. Mike also enjoys traveling and spending quality time with his wife, Kristin, and their three children.
